Description
- High Purity Water Production:
- Designed to produce very low-conductivity, deionized water (polished to near zero ionic content) by combining cation and anion resins in one bed.
- Final Polishing after RO or Two-Bed Systems:
- Often placed after a reverse osmosis or separate cation/anion demineralization stage to achieve ultra-low total dissolved solids (TDS) and conductivity (e.g., < 0.1 µS/cm).
- General DI Applications:
- Suitable for a wide range of deionized water needs, including industrial, laboratory, and cleaning uses such as EDM, window and vehicle washing, aquarium water conditioning, and other applications requiring spot-free or high-purity water.
- One-Step Mixed Bed Use:
- Combines cation (H⁺ form) and strong base type I anion (OH⁻ form) resins in a 1:1 volumetric ratio, allowing simultaneous removal of positive and negative ions as water passes through.
- Very High Deionization Efficiency:
- Mixed bed resins typically produce higher-purity water than separate two-bed systems because the intimate mixing of cation and anion beads allows more complete ion removal in a single step.
- Polished Water Output:
- Can achieve extremely low conductivity and TDS, ideal for polishing stages where final water quality matters (e.g., ultrapure water requirements).
- Simplified System Design:
- Combines both ion exchange functions (cation and anion) in one media load, reducing the number of resin beds and simplifying system plumbing compared to separate cation + anion systems
