When Tannins are present, they will cause a yellow to dark tea color in water and an unpleasant taste and odor. This effect is caused by a humic and fulvic organic acids, which are found in streams, rivers lakes and deep groundwater wells. The structure of tannins depends on the vegetation in the area and varies from location to location. Aries Tannin removal filter cartridges are based on ResinTech SBACR anion exchange media which has an excellent capacity for tannin and other naturally occurring organic matter. The AF Series Tannin/Organics filters are available in four sizes: 2.5” x 10”, 2.5” x 20”, 4.5” x 10” and 4.5” x 20”.
