AF Chloramines Removal Catalytic Carbon Cartridges

Chloramine is a combination of chlorine and ammonia used to control bacterial growth in water distribution systems and to reduce trihalomethanes (THMs). However, there is growing concern over chloramines and its by-products in the water supply. Chloramine tap water can cause severe skin reactions, digestive, gastric, respiratory, kidney and blood problems. Canadian EPA ruled chloramine "toxic" as defined in Section 64 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999. Chloramines could be removed by Catalytic Carbon media, a specially enhanced carbon developed through an advanced process which enhances its catalytic capability, enabling it to cause chemical reactions without changing its structure. As a result, it promotes a wide range of chemical reactions where conventional carbons are not effective. Aries AF Series Chloramines & Hydrogen Sulfide Removal Cartridges contain Centaur Catalytic Carbon Media. They are available in four sizes: 2.5” x 10”, 2.5” x 20”, 4.5” x 10” and 4.5” x 20”.
